DSIP (10mg) — Research Peptide

DSIP (Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide) is a naturally occurring nonapeptide (Trp-Ala-Gly-Gly-Asp-Ala-Ser-Gly-Glu) first isolated from rabbit cerebral venous blood in 1977 by Monnier et al. (Experientia), where it was characterised as a sleep-promoting factor. DSIP has since been identified as a multifunctional neuropeptide with documented effects on sleep architecture, neuroendocrine function, stress response, and antioxidant activity in animal models.

Research Background

DSIP’s original characterisation involved its ability to induce delta (slow-wave) sleep in rabbits when injected into the cerebral ventricles — an effect that generated significant interest in sleep biology research. Subsequent research has investigated DSIP across multiple domains, revealing a broader biological profile than initially anticipated.

Published research has documented DSIP’s effects on: GH and LH pulsatile release in animal models; corticotropin release inhibition (anti-stress effects); antioxidant activity via direct radical scavenging and enzyme induction; locomotor activity and circadian rhythm modulation in rodents; and potential role as an endogenous opioid modulator.
